About Sayerd Tribbey

Sayerd Tribbey serves as a Clinical Intern and Primary Therapist at Vanguard, where she supports clients navigating substance use, trauma, and the recovery process. Her connection to the field of addiction and mental health is deeply personal. Having been raised by individuals who struggled with addiction, Sayerd developed a strong sense of empathy and compassion for those facing similar challenges. These experiences continue to shape her perspective and allow her to approach clients with understanding, patience, and a genuine desire to support their healing.

Sayerd’s clinical approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. She strives to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel supported, respected, and empowered to explore their experiences. Recognizing that substance use is often connected to deeper beliefs and past trauma, she helps clients identify and challenge underlying patterns that may be contributing to their struggles.

In her work, Sayerd incorporates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She also supports clients in developing healthier coping skills, building self-awareness, strengthening accountability, and creating a meaningful and sustainable life in recovery. Sayerd understands that recovery is a process and believes relapse can be an opportunity for growth rather than a sign of failure.

She is especially passionate about working with adult men in recovery from substance use disorders, particularly those experiencing anxiety, depression, and unresolved childhood trauma. One of Sayerd’s greatest strengths is her ability to build genuine, trusting relationships through empathy and authenticity. Her personal connection to addiction allows her to help clients feel seen rather than judged, while her balanced approach encourages both compassion and accountability.

Sayerd wants clients and families to feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported when working with her. Her goal is for each person to feel heard without judgment, encouraged in their growth, and reminded that meaningful change is possible. She hopes clients and families leave their interactions feeling more confident, more connected, and less alone in the recovery process.

Outside of work, Sayerd values spending time with her partner, staying active at the gym, and taking care of her overall well-being. She also places a strong emphasis on personal growth, which helps her remain grounded, balanced, and committed to growing both personally and professionally.
