What is Bipolar Disorder?
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder characterized by episodes of extreme emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). During manic phases, individuals may experience increased energy, euphoria, impulsive behavior, or irritability, while depressive phases involve sadness, fatigue, and feelings of hopelessness.
Bipolar disorder affects an individual’s ability to function in daily life and often requires long-term treatment, including medication and therapy, to manage mood swings and stabilize emotions.
